I have always struggled with acne, but during the summer it is the worst. My overly sensitive skin hates the summer months, especially living in south. At 24, I finally found a few staple products that will work for my combination-sensitive skin and I hope you find these products useful to your daily skin care regimen.
For those who do not have a skin care regimen here is a basic and build-able outline to follow:
*The products listed are from left to right from the photo above. They are not in any particular order. I purchased all of the products from Target and Ulta. Enjoy!*
1. Up & Up Apricot Facial Scrub for Blemishes and Blackheads (Target Brand)
I have used this brand for about 3 years and I prefer the Target brand over the St. Ives because it actually unclogs my pores without breaking out my skin. It is oil free and my skins feels clean and refreshed after using this product.
2. Dickinson’s Original Witch Hazel Pore Perfecting Toner
Tone, tone, TONE! It is so important to follow up with a toner after cleansing. A toner is a secondary gentle cleanser to remove extra dirt and oil without drying out your face. I love this brand because it is 100% natural and it is designed for sensitive skin. Use a cotton ball/pad to remove dirt and oils.
3. Avalon Organics Vitamin C Refreshing Cleansing Gel
Charisse Christine from YouTube suggested this cleanser in one of her older vlogs and I have always been curious to try it out. I have been using this cleanser since April and I must mention how clearer, brighter, and softer my skin looks and feels. Also, I have noticed the dark marks and hyper pigmentation scars fading, which makes me happy!!! I recommend this cleanser for all skin types!
4. C. Booth 4-in-1 Multi-Action Vanilla Butter Body Lotion
I know this is a body lotion, but I love it for my face because of the balancing formula! It is lightweight and does not leave my face oily or dry. This paraben, sulfate, mineral oil, and petrolatum free moisturizer aids in exfoliating, hydrating, nourishing, and firming, which is essential on a daily basis.
5. Freeman Dead Sea Minerals Anti-Stress Mask | Avocado & Oatmeal Clay Mask
Twice a week I use a facial mask in order to deeply cleanse my face. I switch-off using the masks depending on the behavior of my skin. Both masks clears and purifies pores while conditioning and restoring my skin. These are my staple beauty products because they are inexpensive but impressive and lavish!
6. Olay Pro-X Microdermabrasion + Advanced Cleansing System
I fell into the hype of face brushes, but I did not want to shell out $299 for a Clairsonic. So, I purchased the Olay brush for $39 at Target to experiment and to my surprise I actually enjoy the brush! I have been using it since September and I have had a pleasant experience; however, I used this brush twice a month to for a deep and intense cleanse with the Dove Beauty Bar.
Remember to stay consistent, take your vitamins, and drink plenty of water! Healthy skin starts from the inside 🙂
